This site was originally set up following the submission of an application for a windfarm in the Clashindarroch Forest in 2003. The purpose of the site was the dissemination of information to the affected communities and also to provide links to other sources of information. Items of news and announcements which may be of interest to residents of Glass, Gartly, Rhynie and other communities are also presented.
Following the Public Inquiry and subsequent refusal of the application by the Scottish Executive the site became redundant and ceased to be updated. However, following recent events, the site has been brought back into active management. Previous news and announcements have been archived and the rest of our information pertaining to the original application will also be archived shortly.
As feared by many, AMEC continued to pursue the approval for a windfarm and had discussions with Aberdeenshire Council to establish how their application could be amended to make it acceptable. AMEC Wind was subsequently sold to a Swedish company, Vattenfall, who continued with the application.
